Fridge Voyeur is a virtual visit into the chill zone of the Spoon Crew — our team, our friends, and some of your favorite wellness gurus. We may eat a lot of plants, but you better believe there’s a whole lot of variety, and a little bit of naughty, going on behind closed doors. We know you want a peek ;)

This week, we’re peeking into the fridge of nutritionist, plant-based chef, and cookbook author, Carolyn Scott.

Splendid Spoon: Hey Carolyn! Tell us a bit about yourself.
Carolyn Scott-Hamilton: Hi! I live and breathe all things wellness and travel. I’m the creator and host of The Healthy Voyager (a web series and website which helps people discover their healthiest self), cookbook author, vegan chef, and holistic nutritionist. I aim to help people live well, one veggie at a time!

SS: What 5 staples can you not live without?
CS: Cold-pressed coffee, pickles, vegetable broth, fresh greens, and vegan cheese slices.

SS: What’s the weirdest thing in your fridge?
CS: Colombian drinking chocolate squares!

SS: What’s your fave sweet and what’s your fave savory?\
CS: My fave sweet has to be holiday-flavored lattes — they’re my ultimate guilty indulgence! For savory, I have to say guacamole.

SS: If you were one thing in your fridge, what would it be?
CS: Mojo sauce. It’s zesty, tangy and goes well with everything!

SS: What food do you turn to when you want something comforting or nostalgic? Although we eat to keep our bodies strong and healthy, food also connects us to our past, to friends, and to different times in our lives.
CS: I typically turn to a vegan mac and cheese. It’s easy to make, tastes amazing, and is super comforting.
