Fridge Voyeur is a virtual visit into the chill zone of the Spoon Crew — our team, our friends, and some of your favorite wellness gurus. We may eat a lot of plants, but you better believe there’s a whole lot of variety, and a little bit of naughty, going on behind closed doors. We know you want a peek ;)

This week, we’re peeking into the fridge of nutritionist and writer, Megan Wolf.

Splendid Spoon: Hey Megan! Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Megan: I’m a NYC-based registered dietitian at Megan Wolf Nutrition, a mother, and cookbook author.

SS: What are the 5 staples you can’t live without?
MW: Greek yogurt, fresh fruit and berries, kale or spinach, eggs, and cheese.

SS: What’s the weirdest thing in your fridge?
MW: A lot of pickles and hot sauce! [Two things the Spoon Captains also keep in large quantities! — Ed.]

SS: What’s your fave sweet and what’s your fave savory?
MW: My favorite sweet is definitely dark chocolate. For savory, I’d pick roasted salted cashews.

SS: If you were one thing in your fridge, what would it be?
MW: Watermelon! I’m obsessed right now!

SS: What food do you turn to when you want something comforting or nostalgic? Although we eat to keep our bodies strong and healthy, food also connects us to our past, to friends, and to different times in our lives.
MW: I love a bowl of hot black bean pasta [Black bean pasta? We need to try that! — Ed.] made with tomato sauce, parmesan cheese and truffle salt [Truffle salt anywhere and everywhere? Yes please! — Ed.], or really good homemade pesto.
