Fridge Voyeur is a virtual visit into the chill zone of the Spoon Crew — our team, our friends, and some of your favorite wellness gurus. We may eat a lot of plants, but you better believe there’s a whole lot of variety, and a bit of naughty, going on behind closed doors. We know you want a peek ;).

This week, we’re peeking into the fridge of mom and fitness enthusiast, Brittany Giles.

Splendid Spoon: Hey Brittany! Tell us a bit about yourself.
Brittany Giles: Hi! I’m a person who’s dedicated to growth in all aspects of life. I approach each day with a view to making it better than the one before, and I always strive to make a positive impact on the people I come into contact with.

I’m a full time high-school teacher, full-time single mom to my amazing four-year-old, Peyton, full-time lifestyle and wellness blogger at FitXBrit.com, and I’m religiously dropping gems via my favorite hangout spot: my Instagram account.

SS: What are the 5 staples you can’t live without?
BG: That’s easy! Vita Coco Coconut Water (my favorites are the mango and lemonade flavors), frozen fruits for my green smoothie obsession, Verday Chlorophyll Water, peaches, and once a month I reset with some of my favorite smoothies and soups from Splendid Spoon.

SS: What’s the weirdest thing in your fridge?
BG: I think I’m pretty normal in terms of the basics and what I stock up on, but the weirdest thing is the crazy amount of beverages. I would rather drink than eat anything. I know how dangerous that can be in terms of empty calories etc., but it’s my weakness. This is why I try my best to keep healthy drinks, fresh juices, and smoothies in rotation.

SS: What’s your fave sweet and what’s your fave savory?
BG: Savory would have to be almond butter. Plus, I’m pretty obsessed with salt and vinegar chips. I’ve tried to stop eating them, but they’re always calling my name! For sweets, give me a smoothie and I’m happy. I’m not super into other sweets, unless it’s frozen hot chocolate from Studio Movie Grill.

SS: If you were one thing in your fridge, what would it be?
BG: Probably pure pineapple or cranberry juice. It has to be 100% pure though… I drink those juices all day everyday.

SS: What food do you turn to when you want something comforting or nostalgic? Although we eat to keep our bodies strong and healthy, food also connects us to our past, to friends, and to different times in our lives.
BG: Tacos! Torchy’s Tacos give me life, and if you order off the secret menu, then we can be BFFs!
