The holiday season is upon us, and for many that means travel! Whether it be to go home for the holidays, to go on vacation, to spend NYE in the city of your choice or to get that last-minute work meeting in before everyone signs off for the holidays, this is the busiest travel period of the year. We want you to have smooth sailing, so have compiled a list of Splendid tips and tricks to make your next travel experience a great one!


Before taking off, be sure to throw these travel bag must-haves in a backpack or purse to make your travel day go as smoothly as possible.

  1. Hand sanitizer: germs, beware!
  2. Rose water face spray: stay refreshed and glowing, despite the sweat and grime of being on the road.
  3. Reusable water bottle: hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
  4. Portable charger: because we’re all phone-a-holics.
  5. Headphones: call, listen, jam out (without annoying everyone else)
  6. Snack baggie: nuts, seeds, popcorn, baby carrots? Your choice!
  7. Eye mask: sleep, on the go.
  8. Hand cream: because seriously everything gets dry when traveling.
  9. Probiotics: your digestive system is thrown off when traveling. This should help.
  10. Wallet + keys: please don’t forget these.


Airport food is expensive and food offerings alongside highways tend to consist solely of fast food. We highly suggest grabbing a Splendid Spoon smoothie or two for your next trip. A grain bowl also makes a delicious and hassle-free meal for on-the-go. Driving? Stick them in a bag with an ice pack to keep cool.

Hydration is always important, but especially so when flying. Being in a pressurized airplane cabin with recycled air and a lack of humidity can dehydrate you. If nothing else, pack a reusable water bottle. This is a life saver! A water bottle from an airport bookstore can be upwards of $5 and will definitely not keep you hydrated all day long.

Whenever you have the opportunity to move around, do! Take the stairs, not the escalator. Walk up and down the aisle of the train or plane. Go for a jog a few hours before you depart.
