How is the Splendid 5-Day Detox different from a Splendid Subscription?
The Detox is a specific subset of Splendid products (30 different soups, bowls, smoothies, dishes and shots) intended to be eaten over a 5-Day period for the purpose of supporting health goals. These 30 items have been specifically selected to optimize macronutrient balance, satiety, and calorie levels over a 5 day eating regimen that also incorporates intermittent fasting.
The Splendid subscription offers access to our entire line of 50 different meals as well as select seasonal offerings. The Splendid subscription also supports health goals, but is more of a ‘choose your own adventure.’ You choose which meals you order, and when/how you eat them.

How is the Splendid 5-Day Detox different from other cleanses?
The Splendid Detox is based on strengthening your health through plant-rich whole food meals. The Detox is rooted in science that shows nutrients are best absorbed when consumed in whole-food format (rather than from supplements, powders and pills). As well, the Detox encourages those who are able to follow a consistent 16:8 fasting schedule, as part of an intermittent fasting regimen.
Unlike other ‘fast mimicking’ cleanses and diets which require you to eat processed powders, shelf-stable snacks, or extremely low calorie raw-vegetable salads and juices, the Detox encourages you to focus more on a consistent 16:8 fasting schedule, with your 8 hour eating window chock full of delicious whole food meals in both raw and cooked form for optimum nutrient absorption. The Detox provides all the meals you need to eat during that intermittent fasting eating window of 8 hours, for a 5-day period. Individuals are of course able to supplement as they choose, based on individual health goals. For example, those who are pregnant, nursing, or highly active.

How should I do the Detox?
Each day, you will enjoy 6 eating moments: 1 warm breakfast, 4 Splendid meals (a variety of soups, smoothies, and dishes) and 1 shot. Your meals are mapped out on the menu sheet so you can keep everything organized in your fridge and freezer. The breakfast meal is intended to be your first meal, with the remaining 4 soups and smoothies enjoyed as you wish. Your final sip will be one of the Splendid shots. We have designed our menu around a 16:8 intermittent fasting schedule, meaning you will have 16 hours without food. Here’s an example of how this could look:
• 11am warm breakfast (note: caffeinated coffee or tea is also okay before, alongside or after your breakfast - just avoid any milks or sweeteners.)
• 1pm soup lunch
• 3pm smoothie afternoon snack (full bottle)
• 5pm dish or soup dinner
• 6pm smoothie (full bottle) or soup snack
• 7pm shot - your final sip before beginning a 16 hour fast (water or decaf tea is okay during this 16 hour period)

How often should I do the 5-Day Detox?
Due to the nature of the Detox being calorically restrictive, we recommend using it as a reset every 1-3 months. Research shows time and again that fiber-rich, whole-food diets are great for our health, so if you love the flavor and quality of your meals - stick with them because really, more is more! If you enjoyed how you felt while intermittent fasting, we encourage you to keep adapting your eating window to your individual needs and goals. What if I have an allergen or avoidance of an ingredient on the menu?
We unfortunately are not able to modify the Detox menu at this time. If you need to swap or supplement a meal, we recommend sticking to whole-foods, plant-based options that are free from gluten, dairy and refined sugar. Swap in oatmeal, a hearty fiber-rich soup or whole-grain veggie dishes or supplement with seeds or nuts. Check out some of our recipes on our blog if you need support. How will the meals arrive?
Meals will arrive ready made, delivered in a single shipment, and kept cool with dry ice from our kitchen to your doorstep. Smoothies and shots should stay in your refrigerator and be shaken vigorously before enjoying. Oats, soups, and dishes are best stored in your freezer, or in your fridge for 1-2 days prior to consumption. Bottled smoothies and shots can be shaken and then enjoyed straight out of the bottle. Oats, soups and dishes should be heated thoroughly before enjoying, following instructions on the container. All meals are ready in 5 minutes or less.
