Fridge Voyeur is a virtual visit into the chill zone of the Spoon Crew — our team, our friends, and some of your favorite wellness gurus. We may eat a lot of plants, but you better believe there’s a whole lot of variety, and a little bit of naughty, going on behind closed doors. We know you want a peek ;)

This week, we’re peeking into the fridge of basketball-playing model and health coach, Dani Seitz.

Splendid Spoon: Hey Dani! Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Dani Seitz: Hey! I’m from Canada and have been living in NYC for 6 years. Does that make me a New Yorker yet? I grew up with a huge garden where I always foraged for ingredients for our meals. I love hiking, camping, and being outdoors in nature! I currently work as a model and health coach.

SS: What are the 5 staples you can’t live without?
DS: It’s so hard to choose just five! I’d have to say coconut oil, gluten-free oats, almond butter, coconut flakes, and cinnamon.

SS: What’s the weirdest thing in your fridge?
DS: Kefir grains that I still haven’t activated. [Kefir grains are the mother culture needed to make kefir — a probiotic drink, typically made with fresh milk. — Ed.]

SS: What’s your fave sweet and what’s your fave savory?
DS: Sweet is definitely dark chocolate. Savory has to be popcorn!

SS: If you were one thing in your fridge, what would it be?
DS: Ha! I’m honestly not sure! Maybe a lemon? They’re fresh, cute, and colorful :).

SS: What food do you turn to when you want something comforting or nostalgic? Although we eat to keep our bodies strong and healthy, food also connects us to our past, to friends, and to different times in our lives.
DS: When I was growing up we would steam broccoli and add butter and salt to it when we watched movies. It’s my favourite snack. I know this is too healthy for a comfort food, but it really is my favorite! [We love your veggie-obsession! — Ed.]
