A 15 minute daily mindfulness practice helps us find happiness and peace in our lives. Mindful eating is a simple and straightforward way to begin. Follow one of these exercises before your meal, and steadily find your way to increased energy, elevated mood, and less stress.
I Am Peaceful
State your mantra out loud: “I am peaceful and at ease.” As you prepare your meal, continue to repeat this mantra (either out loud or to yourself).
Sit down. Remove any distractions. Close your eyes. Take five deep breaths. As you do so, repeat your mantra.
Start to Spoon. Keep your focus on the present: your breath, meal, and mantra. If your mind wanders off, bring it back to the now by restating your mantra: “I am peaceful and at ease.” In this time you give yourself to eat and be mindful with your meal, remember: you are present; you have everything you need; you are fully supported by your mind and your meal.
Come back to your mantra whenever you need to feel grounded and supported throughout the day.
